Viburnum dentatum

Arrow wood

Viburnum dentatum is a native shrub, occurring in our region in moist forests down to northern Georgia. It does best in full sun to part shade, on sites with moist soils. Showy clusters of small white flowers bloom in the spring and attract pollinators. Blue-black fruits ripen in the late summer and are enjoyed by birds of all sizes. The leaves of this tree have serrated edges, which help distinguish it from some of our other Viburnum species. Viburnum dentatum works well for restoration projects, or planted in a yard or rain garden.
